Restoration work on the church in Meshchovsk, Kaluga Region
Description:
The cemetery church in the city of Meshchovsk, Kaluga province, was built at the expense of the residents of the city of Meshchovsk and consecrated in 1876 in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The building is an example of the Russian-neo-Byzantine style of the late 19th century. At the time the work began, the church building was in a state of emergency and ruin.
All work was carried out on the basis of agreed design documentation under the guidance of the author and technical supervision.
The work is carried out from 2015 to 2017.
Completed works:
Development of scientific design documentation for the repair and restoration of interior spaces, roofs and facades of the building;
Reconstruction of the completely lost roof structure, installation of a dome, reconstruction of the drainage system;
Installation of roofing by means of folded and checkered joints;
Installation of window and door fillings;
Work on the interior, including restoration of the lost ceiling of the second floor in the narthex, finishing work, installation of forged elements, and reconstruction of the stone iconostasis;
Restoration of plaster and paint layers of building facades;
Restoration of surviving forged canopies;
Reconstruction of forged grilles and shutters;
Recreation of the blind area;
Improvement of the territory.
