Object of cultural regional significance “Regional Drama Theatre, 1958”
Description:
The theater was built in 1954-1957. Construction was completed on December 10, 1958.
The building is located on the northern, elevated side of Theater Square. It dominates the symmetrical ensemble of the square, opening up to the south, to Kirov Street.
The large, monumental building is executed in the spirit of classicism. It has a symmetrical, rectangular in plan, 5-storey volume, stretched along the axis of the ensemble.
The building overlooks the square with a powerful portico on a low podium formed by the gentle slope. A wide staircase leads to the podium.
The regional drama theatre presents a striking work of Russian architecture in the spirit of classicism.
