Kaluga, Bazhenov st., 2

Description:

The official date of the city’s foundation is considered to be 1371, the year of the first mention of Kaluga in written sources that have reached our times. Even the first historians of the city of Kaluga noted that the city is much older than its official age. This version is confirmed by archaeological research data in the places of ancient settlements on the territory of modern Kaluga.

Most of the city’s architectural monuments are located in the territory of “Old Kaluga”: on Kirov, Lenin, Teatralnaya, Pushkin, Bazhenov streets, and the Old Market Square. Among them are the Kamenny Bridge, the Gostiny Ryady complex, merchant chambers, and city estates from the 17th to 19th centuries, which are famous throughout Russia.

The work was carried out in 2014.

Completed works:

Repair and restoration work on the building facades.
